Cusianagas S.A. E.S.P. is pleased to inform its users that it will be part of the Alliance for Carbon Neutrality, which will be signed by the Colombian Association of Natural Gas - Naturgas, within the framework of the Summit on Climate Change COP26.

The purpose of the alliance is focused on consolidating and strengthening the good practices of the gas industry, aimed at achieving carbon neutrality, in a common commitment to reduce and offset Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions. In this sense, given its significant contribution to climate change mitigation due to its low emissions, and its positive impact on air quality, natural gas becomes a key product to achieve this goal between 2030 and 2050. 

To this end, Cusianagas as a company in the sector, voluntarily and with the aim of contributing to the country's commitments in the reduction of Greenhouse Gases, will seek to contribute to the decarbonization of the economy, through the use of natural gas, as an essential element in the energy transition for its environmental benefits and competitiveness.

It will also give continuity to the initiative to offset its emissions through the strategy of payment for environmental services, encouraging the conservation of natural ecosystems and the development of sustainable production processes in the region.

The Alliance is supported by the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development and the Ministry of Mines and Energy, and will be signed this Thursday, November 4, during the COP26 Summit in Glasgow (Scotland) by Naturgas as representative of the gas industry in the country, of which Cusianagas is an active part.
